// How It Works?
Every time visitor talks in the “loud haler “, the sound will be captured and it will trigger “ a small tree” which projected on screen to react – the tree will start growing. The growing will stop when visitor stops talking; and it will continue to grow when a new sound is detected again.
If a continous sound is detected, small tree continue to grow until becoming a big tree, and more and more trees will grow until a small forest is formed.
Throughout the whole interactive growing process, background of the forest will change accordingly to demonstrate the changes of time in a typical day in a forest. Little animals and insects appear in different time of a day to give additional visual surprises to the visitors during the partipation and also serve as a form of motivation for continuos engagement in the installation.
The duration to complete the whole interactive growing process depends on the amount of participation from visitors. The more and longer participation it is, the faster the forest is formed. If there is no partipation, the tree will remain as it is until the next sound trigger. The formation of the forest and the whole interactive process may take less than 10 minutes to a few days or a few weeks depending on the user participation during the set-up of the installation.
The whole interactive process ends with a biblical proverb: Speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee.
