Daylight Robbery (Again)

Update 21st July 2008 :
Added the video in youtube for your viewing pleasure. Do not be conned by all these con artist anymore!

This time around it’s the time around the year again, I’m conned! By those irresponsible bus conductor illegally selling tickets to poor humble Malaysians that is seeking transport back to their hometown. I can’t express how much disappointed or even depressed looking at the state we’re in, to cheat in earning money. God damn it.

Nothing beats from realizing your hard-earned money getting conned by those fake ticket seller, that supposingly makes you pay RM50 for a trip back to Kuala Lumpur. The price of the ticket might have hiked result from the petrol hike, but the actual fact it is suppose to be sold at around RM30. What adds to the pain is that the local stores insists on not selling tickets to me! Saying that it’s sold out and only operational up to 10PM. This is madness.

Time Drifters

It is the fourth month and to come, and almost half a year I’m here. Time passes so fast I barely remembered what had happened during the last 2 month. Both exciting, exhausting and thrilling at least. One of the event was to celebrate my boss’s birthday at Cafe Del Mar in Sentosa. Which it’s a place that I’ve never been before. Excitingly, me and my other 3 colleague never been there before as well, which led us to…

Somewhere uphill, and walking down the drips of the rain. This is due to the taxi driver that drove just right into Sentosa and left us uphill near the golf turf.

Busting AS3’s Myths

Mythbusters Video Voting Minisite

Another good practice for me to debunk all my questions on AS3 right away. Took quite a while for the power to kick in, but I really felt using best practice in AS3 really does fastens up productivity by a lot.
That is not only applying for myself, but imagining there will be another colleague of yours that might need to change your code in case you are not there, temporarily. Full fledge Tweener class in AS3 is used inside as you can see.

Minimal animation at this point because I’m not sure if it is appropriate to go all crazy with my limited knowledge on AS3. On the other, I noticed error handling are certainly way better and detailed than AS2/AS1 counterparts, though it might be a serious pain in the ass when the compiler keeps bitching on missing or unknown objects.

What other benefits I have learnt from there? Loading objects and controlling them are becoming more structural, if it’s a correct word to use, which means sending and receiving data will be more “organized”. Even controlling of video object (flv) is easy, and I can easily retrieve the playheadTime on the fly. But of course one of the biggest myth debunked that, learning AS2 in advance does help you to-know which object to use for an interaction, although the calling method might be entirely different now.

offtopic – have I mentioned I totally enjoyed http://www.thesixtyone.com ?

The End Earth

Wandering Elsewhere

Time has really passed undefinitely fast without me realizing it. This is the third month. And being abroad feels, same…What is really different that I’m really almost on my own. Learning more things by the day and had to deal with various stuff that previously was helped by my friend or parents. Enough rambling, let’s see what’s up for the past April?

Some weird advertisement I bumped into one of the bus stops at Tiong Bahru.

Some delicious insta-snack from Taiwan, courtesy of my Studio Manager/Art Director.

Once you pop, you can’t stop. Much harder than your Pringles.

Stumbled upon this weird looking Vitagen-ish bottle. And at first I thought it would be chocolate flavoured milk.

But upon the first sip, I realized it’s coffee.

The big launch, Hardboiled Magazine

And as I talked about the previous project I was working on, it was really an adrenaline rush up to my brain.

But it was fun nevertheless, missing the rush with my fellow colleagues as well. My workspace (last time, now switch). Was right directly below the air-cond.

And was addicted to this drink, tastes weird, but nice? Kinda like ribena on weed.

And a walk out the street is like this. I wondered why people around me keep on saying this would be one of the safest street in this country, I wondered. And now I know, it’s the residence of the Chief Minister. Mr.Lee.

Phew.

The nearby Nasi Campur, also known as Dirty-Place by my colleague. But to my surprise, the smoking area is far more spacious and comfortable at the back of the shop.

The night of the magazine launch. http://www.hardboiledmagazine.com

And it was in conjunction with Earth Hour Singapore. Yay, 1 hour off of electricity.

Not mine :P

The supporters from inside out.

Limited edition 20$SGD.

My paycheck. To my suprise, in contrary to Malaysia, you only need to write the name and account number of yours at the back of the cheque directly. Clearance is about 1 day for local and oversea. Nice.

Milk addiction.

Another nice souvenir from my colleague that is just back from Taiwan.

And for the past week has been some crazy unpredictable weather, heavy rain. that led to sudden power outage.

This is how it looks outside 6 AM in the morning.

First coach from Novena Square. Up until now, I am satisfied.

And this is right outside of Aeroline Sunway. I am TOO satisfied.

spacious.

And with food served. The plus? They provide you blanket to sleep at late night journeys.

You areee MyYyy Beautiful Girll..
And I am surprised again, had a chance to drop by Sean Kingston first gig in Singapore.

Looks like Zouk KL. But more spacious. Since it’s targeted towards a younger age audience, no alcohols are allowed inside. *cough*

Nice right? Wait until you see the size of it.

More nice.

Chillin with Wii.

Was at here to celebrate farewell with one of the colleague.

Great cozy place to be at.

Racing with times. Side by side. Konsortium and the big guy Aeroline.
