[Travel] Part 6 of 6, Laos – The Forgotten Land
Halfway there
I see a tiny fragment of hope and light when we reached the halfway pit-stop. My back almost broke into two. It was probably 2 – 3 AM in the morning.
We stopped by some unidentified shop for a break, probably around 30 minutes or so.
Back in Vientiane
It was early in the morning when we reached, exactly around 12 hours again.
The streets were empty.
And it’s 6 on their local time (shown on the picture is Malaysia +8GMT). Since it’s too early and our flight is somewhere oddly around the late afternoon, we need some place to stay and we went back to Saysouly Guesthouse.
It’s located pretty near to Wat Mixay / Vat Mixay.
The owner’s happy playing checkers.
Other type of accommodation
The Fountaine
And we had a chance to drop by one last attraction before our flight. Seems like the locals prefer to bring their pets for a stroll around here.
Breakfast in Vientiane
Yes, we went back to the same shop that we visited second day in our trip.
Mysterious looking dish, but awesome.
Fur! Fer?
Lunch in Vientiane
Sunny rice again.
Going to airport
At the airport
It seems like the only crowded counter would be the flight back to K.L.
Bye bye Laos
The Mekong River between Laos and Thailand.
Going back from KLIA
Once you have landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and you would not want to go through the hassle of waiting for queues and buses. You can share a cab/taxi with your friends where you can purchase a pre-paid ticket from the counter, located right the exit of the arrival hall.
That is all for the travel log to Laos. I’m through-fully enjoyed the trip despite the crazy hot weather. Things to complain is I gotten some minor bed bug scar on my body (damn). So you have to be very careful as it seems bed bug are on rampant again, especially on budget hostels/guesthouse. The 12-hours bus ride was crazy, but I hope to go on a slower pace next time, perhaps to take the 2-day trip on a boat to Luang Prabang (the plane option is too expensive though). Luang Prabang is a great place that I wish to spend more time around it. The people are nice, and I felt really welcomed
