Hello Singapore
It has been a while that I’m literally sit down and talk to a person in real life. Well, anyway the trip down to the land of water lion proved that there is much more thing I have to learn about life? And also it almost feels like a person like me can’t complain in life and have the feeling of “fear” even though I’m travelling alone. I guess this has been one of the stunt I pulled off after the one from Shanghai. Luckily this time around, my trip to SG is far more breezier than how it was USED to be back in 2004. It was hell back then. Basically something that I suppose to complete within the 2 week stay using Social Travel Pass (White Card) in SG.
Went to Klang bus station and took the usual route down to JB/SG. Costs me around RM35. And of course, I suppose to expect an early trip from 8am onwards, but they said that only 11AM will be the first ride. And so on.
Riding down south
And here I am. Reached at approximately 6:30 P.M. Cool eh? With all those continous stopping. 6 hours is what they can take you.
And I stayed in Little India for the week. Surprisingly, this place DOES feels like Little punya India. Really. Even those ang-moh I met back in the hostel agreed.
The usual traffic is as much as what you can expect from this happening place. Selling spices, blasting bollywood songs. Well basically, if you’re at Klang’s India Street? You’ll find this surprisingly familiar to you.
Walking through the night
And as I settled down in the hostel itself. I took a trip down to the studio I was suppose to visit. And well, it’s past work time I suppose it’s normal to have people around. Escalators filled with people and so on.
And most of them walks slumberly.
Just right outside of the MRT station, I’m surprised to find there is this SK8ER park just right beside this SOMERSET MRT station (I have noidea why they pronounced it Summer-set) ?
Woo hoo, finally after walking uphill for around 15 minutes.
The road downhill will suppose to bring me to Clarke Quay. Those where there is a lot of boats.
But…I realized that this is the backdoor.
And I walk again…
Back In Hostel
Yes, you are looking at a hostel, backpackers style. And the picture is not photoshopped. I was super-surprised when I reached this place at Little India, at Dunlop Street. Have I not introduce them yet? I stayed in The Inn Crowd. It was more than what I expect to be, the facilities and beds are superb, I basically need to sleep on a dorm bed, and initially I thought that it would smells and looks dodgy. But heck! This is it!
And free wifi! Woo hoo, sounds like I’m bribed to promote them. But no, it’s really hell of a catch to stay at this place. It’s so comfortable that it beats Geylang’s hotel to pieces, unless…you wanted to find zha-boh laaa. Per night? 20SGD. I believe it’s a great deal. BOo Hoo. Let me see…breakfast included…there’s PC for you to use…there’s dvd player with tv…
Breakfast?
But still, I end up trying some nasi lemak out there. But I realized they didn’t use ikan bilis. But some weird big sized fried fish.
And smelling some local diesel smokes.
This is how the road suppose to look like in the morning. (I thought Dunlop is tyre company?)
Of course, no people is allowed to wear shoes to bed.
So I decided to Jalan-jalan around the town.
This is cool? Reminds me of the RFID from JPN.
Some interesting ads found on the MRT station.
yolk
Visited the dudes at yolk. And I missed out their exhibition during the Singapore Design Festival. gah.
Whee. New shoe.
New sim card. But I realized, truthfully that this service coverage (sucks!). lol. Why? Because I’m not sure if it’s the problem of my phone or the provider itself that I’ve been told that I didn’t pickup the phone when they call me, or some even claimed they can’t get through. And my phone doesn’t ring at all. Cool eh.
Dried Clarke Quay
(Old Market) Lau-Pa-Sat in front. Took me 15 minutes of wrong way walking. Was meeting up with Chris.
Wrong focus. Sorry. Was too excited.
And there’s like so many supercar around. What about bonggol?
Some dessert. Looks ugly but tastes fantastic, this is…green tea flavour. Eager to try it one more time. In Chinatown.
Singing Opera there.
Does Petaling Street rings any bell in your head?
Supposingly Chris wanted to bring me to drink at the roof top bar. (Is it loof?) But apparently, sudah close shop.
I’m well, impressed by the buildings that are maintained well.
Wholesome of eye candyish design shop.
Red Dot Design Museum
Why am I never been here before?
MAAD! Market for Artists And Designers
Really really bizzare place. Too bad it’s on the weekend that I don’t think that I would be here for the flea market. You can actually sell softtoys.
Japanese drink vending machine.
Imbi Plaza look alike. Just bigger.
Lowyat Plaza look alike. Just F***ing better!
And it has been raining on random times.
On the way to the City Hall MRT. Andy Lau’s fetish?
And this is taken approximately around the early working hours where a lot of people walking to work.
And it’s a lot of people.
And people. But most of them looks the same. But I have some question in mind. Is it me or do I feel that they have fetish with spectacles? So many guys wearing it there. I mean, really a lot.
And condom box?
I guess I can come to the conclusion why the hell Malaysia’s version is named Rocky instead of Pocky unlike JPN, Taiwan, CHina, Thailand and SG. Most probably it does sounds like Puki…
Why some say building gadgets in SG cheaper? Because you can claim back the gst. Cool uh.
Inside look of Sim Lim Square.
Bugis!
Cool looking Indian Temple.
WTF?
“Don’t you dare meeesszzzzzzz with meh!”
It’s ok if you don’t get this joke. Most Hokkien speaker will understand this.
Bugis again.
Really nice vegetarian chap farn just right beside the road. 3 dish = 2.50SGD. Add barley = 80cent. 3.20SGD for all. I think affordable?
And inside the hostel, they do organize really nice trip to safari and monuments. And also acts like a central spot for tourist info. And they also tell those girls where toget free entrance and drinks during ladies night. cool.
Zheng My car.
Really big guerilla?
This is how it looks when it’s packed. Just like roti canai, but not as bad as Shanghai.
A look from outside. Pity the girl.
MRT @ Buona vista. Suppose to meet up with Chris again.
and YUMCHAR at Holland Village!
Well a lot of bars and pubs.
And kwai lous.
They say it’s 0 degrees celcius inside. But how come no people drinking inside?
LOL. Well, I just want to laugh and cry when I see this.
Note anything unusual here on the backalley? If you get it I treat kimgary.
Drinking at Wala Wala.
Unplugged.
And later band performance by The Unexpected.
This guy is seriously, gila-madness-skillful-siaulang. Really, too bad I didn’t record on the part where he did a minute long solo.

Riding Bus

Was a virgin in bus riding in SG and never tried one before. Decided I had to.

Whatcha lookin’ at?

And it rains again

And again

But stops after a while.

Of course I was wondering where is isn’t much vandalism of people trying to toy with these emergency tool. Now I understand why. It’s pricey. 5k SGD
Thats it if you want to try.

This is somewhere near Killiney Road (near the MRT that has the skateboarding area)

Lu-li-an Chu Cheong Farn.

And Chris told me that the goverment kinda banned people from smoking inside the clubs. Cool huh?

Not bad for this porridge.

And a few minute walk will bring me back to this park.

Some shooting and graffiti in-the-making.

What’s the matter?

It’s peak hour. Look at the people.

Some wall art at Little India.

There is this slideshow that will appear outside of the window. Wondering how they did it.

Oh, look. What’s unusual?

And the stairs are bigger in size.

Biggest book in SG.

They called it Parata. or Prata? Prada?

Taking bus home.

And this is where I slept.

Mind you, although lot of angmoh and stuff. Still this is backpacker right? I noticed someof them just simply throw their bra and underwear on the bed -_-

Looks like who?
Back to Malaysia
Of course as most of the journey inside SG is pretty fun and smoothflowing, not until I reach the dark side of the place. The custom area where a lot of people will pass by to go back Johor. And, if you choose to walk in there. Really. You don’t really want to try it. I have no idea why everyone’s running though there’s still bus.

Some terrible accident with a Satria torched entirely in flame at the highway. Some suspect it could be the wiring shortcircuited.

I fell in love with DiGi even more! Lost my phone on the bus back in Klang, called up them to stop the card, and retrieved it back with a new sim card at no charge! And that’s less than an hour! Damn it! Yellow man rocks.
