[Part 1] Shanghai Noon
Here’s something that I would like to share, my entire journey in Shanghai for the last whole month. Been really fruitful and explosive. Literally. Of course that would come in terms of culture, people that I met and even work that I did back then. I’m not sure what’s to come in the next few month but I’m really anticipating for more challenges. Behold, here would come a whole lot of picture spam. Head on the link below to read the entire log of my journey in the first two week in the mainland of China.

While I’m staying near the biggest road of the city itself, where you can normally see this much of car in the morning. Yan’An Road is particularly the name of the road.

And I’ve used to walking to work after few days being there realized that actually it’s less than 3 K.M. from where I lived to work. Damn it. Realizing I spent at least 2 hour in the train for the first day to work, due to heavy typhoon and misdirection I had. I actually end up 1 hour late to work, of course, not only me. There’s quite some people also late due to the typhoon.

Now you may ask it might be hot in the morning? No! a big NO! It’s around 25 celcius or lower where it’s pretty cold out there even with sun shining.

Bikes are still pretty common for travelling around the town.

And oh yes, they’d say there’s a lot of big car around because they wouldn’t prefer to sit in cars like Kancil because it made them felt ‘cheap’. Hence, big cars.

I stay there…behind the building.
After Work Activity

There’s actually not much of thing to be done after work since it’s pretty late after the dinner.

But a random walk around the town does really occasionally bring me to different surprises. And to this, public escalator in the middle of the road.

And some kind of interconnected bridge that works differently from our country. This thing exists in Taiwan also! Just that it’s kinda older than what I saw back in Shanghai.

The local coins, you can see there’s 1 Yuan and also 5 cents.

Of course there’s definitely one thing I like about this place is that their public security is absolutely fabulously amazing. I’m walking back home around midnight and there’s good security besides beautiful street lights.

Ooo…what’s this?

Perhaps one of the beautiful street around the town, known as Hua’Shan Road. Which it’s pretty loaded with a lot of bars and clubs around.

Of course while walking I realized that there is actually a lot of old buildings that inherited back in the old days more than 100 years where they let public to go in. Really nice.

Note that the buildings are not just filled with lights. It will blink and animate as well!
Working up high in the sky

That’s what you can see from top of the building.

Had a really cozy dinner with Kelly, Sin and Hoven after work. Really had a great time there. Unexpected setting for such a place.
Lurking around the shopping plazas.

Of course there are tons of details I might missed out throughout the log but you might get a rough idea on how it is. This is the entrance of one of the ‘hottest’ mall in the town near Xu Jia Hui, kinda like KL but with more people and bigger shops.

A random walking around brings me to this. Some new media installation that looks pretty worn out. Looks like it’s like a ‘normal’ thing there.

And it works flawlessly! Unlike the…near there…neh….you know-where-it-is.

Of course being a lot of bikes, there are a lot of thieves for this as well! That is why you rarely will see any nice or newly bought bikes parked publicly. That is because they want to avoid being stolen, they might even go as far to make their bike ugly.

Notice the big huge ball there? It’s a mall with a lot of electronics just like lowyat. Trust me, lowyat is nothing compared to that. and that ball? It animates!

That is from the outside of the shop, you can see it’s known as Gang’Hui, (Hong Kong Gathering)

And I’ve been told that it is common to have installation or event setup here every weekend.

And look!

There’s the naked…chick.

And dude.

This thing literally saves my ass from being owned there. I should be grateful my AMBANK NexG card works flawlessly. I had no time to even consider about those extra charges involved or even currency exchange.

It’s not a real person climbing, really.

And inside the mall itself, some unusual design that makes no sense to me?

Well, you can see how curious people are.

And movies? You can kiss yourself goodbye there. It’s approximately 30 ringgit per person on every show at normal rates.

And yes, you might yawn, but that’s about them with a bit slowdown on movie, lucky us?

Gadgetboy! Hah!

Oh well, enough drolling at half naked people. You naughty person. Anyway, that’s about the first half of the log, might be another 3 part to come. Till then, see you again. Millions of thanks again to my dear friends in Shanghai that really took care of me when I’m there. Particularly to Hoven, Sin and Kelly.
