[Part 2] Langkawi

The next morning. Day 1

There’s such a cold strong sea breeze blew into my face the moment I woke up from yesterday exhausting ride. Just right outside my room, less than a minute walk, there’s a beach right in front of me. And did I mention the owner of the chalet/hotel is suprisingly friendly? Laila is her name, which is a German married to a local here.

And what about the food? I just briefly took some nasi kandar at some nearby stall. And suprisingly, with such a good weather, everything is just nice, the price is right, and there’s no rain.

And right after the breakfast, I’m all set towards the first activity and to head towards the mountain.

Oh yeah. The yatcht club owned by our previous Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir. Never had a chance to try the food at the restaurant owned by him.

Hell yea, being a Malaysian will get you a discount for the cable car ride up.

It’s fking cold I tell you.

And then there’s the hanging bridge up on the hill.

From the top of the island.

Where I’ll have to walk few minutes down the hill to reach the hanging bridge. Which I was quite lucky to be able to go there because they would normally close down if there’s heavy wind or bad weather.

Doh. Would anyone climb?

Beautiful spot to live. or…

Note the massive difference of picture took with the phone vs. Fuji F11.

Hornbill! Spotted in the wild.

Just right after the ride, which you can go on forever and stay there, but which I prefer to spend the time on another place, and just right below the hill, the entrance, it’s the Oriental village where you’ll able to do various things to feeding rabbit to riding elephants. Literally.

Despite going through a long hours of journey inside the Oriental Village, I headed directly towards the Seven Wells which located towards the hill, where you will need to climb literally, hiking in general. And upon arriving, it’s really spooky that I can’t seem to see much tourist around except monkeys and locals. Well, the road is pretty narrow and took almost half of my life climbing just right less than 1 K.M. of the hill, but of course, before deciding to go back, I’ve stopped halfway on the beautiful waterfall. Lucky me that I didn’t go way up, probably due to my determination and also, my sis told me that there’s ain’t anything worthy visit up there. Probably.

So right after the first two visit, it’s about afternoon for a short quick lunch which suprisingly the world most expensive breakfast I’ve ever had in my entire life! Cool? Red bean + 1 sausage + 1 egg = RM12.

What about the air pump? Remember I’d mentioned about the Fuel consumption and not to fill the car with fuels upon returning it? There’s another conspiracy which I’ve found that why the hell does the car took up so much oil for a very short duration, in conclusion that I realized the car’s air been put off which would serve the main reason why it eats up so much fuel for a short journey, and indeed, after pumping sufficient air back into the tyres, everything went…good.

Next destination, the burnt paddy. wtf.

The car I drove.

Next, up hill towards Mt.Raya.

Virtually, there’s nothing much you can see here except cold airs. Even I felt paying money towards up the cable car is worthy the time. Damn. Well, at least I’ve  felt it’s good to reach 2 mountains in 1 day. Could you? Oh, yes, this one has a toll that you need to pay. Damn.

I was there.

And oh, while driving, of course there’s not much of people around except I occasionally see westerners with their bikes. It’s a pretty crazy experience considering there’s landslides effect everywhere around the hill. So that made me quickly left the place. phew.

What’s next…

To be continued…

[PART 1] Langkawi

And it has been for almost a month since my trip to the land of tax free heaven, Langkawi which literally meant land of soft chalk island, that most of the mountain there will ‘menghakis’ overtime, due to the nature of the land, and also it has a lot of eagles, thus the name ‘Lang, from helang.

Since there were about 500 pictures from my selected pool, it took ages for me to upload all of it, and made me hated imageshack for a while, so i’ve decided to do it part by part, easier.

And it seems this is how it started, a ticket which was bought online, seemingly 2-3 days before the trip. And with luck, my secondary school friend took me over to the KLIA LCC Terminal.

Without hesitation, it seems that it would be the best choice for a runaway trip, apart from being ffk-ed and always felt tu9lan from people around not able to make it to the trip. Well, it seems this time around, I’m looking forward a more relaxing and “look and find, explore” type of trip.

And it would be my first trip to Langkawi since I’ve never been there ever once! Talk about being Malaysian.

And this is my boarding pass. How lovely does it look.

Despite being an airbus, yes, we human are being treated like cargo, transported at the lowest cost possible, it’s pretty easy to get things done. Get your luggages inside, weigh it, and you’re ready to rock and roll.

Unlike international flights, I’ll just have to walk pass by the security access for domestic flight. Sweet.

Sure waiting is boring, had delay on the plane, but whatever it is, phone was switched off that time.

And as soon they announced that the plane has arrived for boarding, everyone was rushing like there is no tomorrow.

And  I’d deeply understand the kid’s feeling. She may hate flying so much.

Moderately chun. :P

Listened to the safety briefing.

Was breathtaking, I assume the scene that I had during the flight to Langkawi, which took approximately 1 hour.

Do not be mistaken by the picture, I was struggling and half dead that time due to some itchiness-massive-itchiness on the nose, blockage, slight fever and sore throat. Damn it. Wondering why does it happen at that time.

Turning dark, well, despite my nose being an ass for torturing me, I’d wish I could once ride the plane during sunset, it’s just beautiful.

Couldn’t see much during landing. Was pretty dark back then, quite strong wind and wave that I can see from above. I was likewtf. Beauty.

Anticipating the trip, was quite late around 9 P.M., which was about the time I got myself a new car to rent for 3 days until Friday for RM60 per day, which considerably cheap compared to the first offer I got was Rm70 per day. Oh well, the plus point here, except I was being ill, I’m kinda lazy to take up the rest of my energy to argue for meaningless argument and at the same time, the one I’m driving was a new Saga! Yay.

Being considerably new, I’d felt delighted to have this car with power steering, which would made my cruisin’ experience million times better. But putting that asides, I’ve been told that no matter how full you filled the car with petrol, the car rental service people will all suck it to dry with their pump upon receiving back the car and resell it, so that you will have to pump the petrol again, which means it’s wise to drive with calculating the amount of fuel you need, the Fuel Consumption, which mine was about R.M10 would take me for 60km.

The first ever checkpoint I’ll ever need to reach is the hotel, or probably chalet? That I’ve booked, it’s seriously beautiful. Too hard to justify with this picture at night. Took some bath, and ready to rock and roll for the first night in order to prepare for tomorrow morning.

Mind you. It’s suprisingly addictive to drive around the island at night, and guess what, I’ve toured the entire island in just one night! And well, to have a map with you is always handy, and try not to turn into small junction that is out of the map that is given to the tourist, it’ll seriously bring you to some place you wouldn’t want to go be, or go. There’s so much of hills up and downs that you felt like cruisin’ real in TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED. REAL LIFE EDITION. Damn. Dream place to be.

And oh, did I mention I found this classic gas pump for your tyres?

End of Part 1…to be continued…

That this might…

be something that might not interest you at all…

Adobe recently announced AIR (samples) which is previously known as Apollo, that makes online application runs on desktop. And Kevin Rose, has announced Pownce as his new startup while I have found Revision3 on digg at the same time. On the other hand, people speculates that Thoof might overtake all other news community. And upon browsing, I might be interested in making my own Firefox extension.

Lifeline

One of the most pointless yet enjoyable work I have done for this month yet. Lol. Some work in progress to share when I was doodling for my MB, which the cover was explicitly scratched by the b**tch from Apple Mareeshia. So I decided that I need something to cover the scratches.
